Marketing Wisdom for 2007
By Robert Greenshields on Feb 5, 2007 in Reviews
Every year hundreds of readers of the ezine Marketing Sherpa submit their favorite marketing tips, based on what worked well the previous year, and the best of these are published in a Marketing Wisdom document.
Marketing Wisdom 2007 shares 110 tips.
The key trends highlighted by the editors are:
- Simple ideas often bring the biggest returns
- The emergence of social networks
- The continuing importance of the personal touch.
My favorite 7 tips are the following:
1. Increase the frequency of your mailings to improve returns. (Tip 2)
2. Try out different email subject lines with a small test group before issuing your ezine. (Tip 3)
3. Including full transcripts with a podcast increases the audience. (Tip 23)
4. Journalists need numbers so have specific information in your press releases. (Tip 33)
5. Don’t be afraid to turn away people who would not be interested in buying your product e.g. tell them the price up front. (Tip 46)
6. Long descriptive web page names improve search performance. (Tip 55)
7. Being part of an online community is rewarding professionally and personally. (Tip 66)
